Recently, researchers Laura Pimpin (former postdoctoral fellow) and Dariush Mozaffarian (dean at Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, published their study in PLOS ONE, suggesting butter is actually better for you than previously thought.

The systematic review and meta-analysis of over 600,000 individuals and 6.5 million person years of follow up looked at the relationship between butter consumption and chronic heart disease. They found no link to higher risk of heart disease and a negative correlation to Type 2 diabetes. It’s possible the monounsaturated fats in dairy fat may improve blood sugar and insulin sensitivity. So can eating more butter may actually be good for you? A summary of the research can be found here.

In conclusion, 66 million French knew it all along....eat more butter!
