Registrars and recently qualified doctors often have no or very basic cover in place. Some Life cover is commonly included with your employer super however this is often not a high priority at this stage in your life. Long working hours and study commitments, funding study and planned fellowships need to be considered when choosing the right types and structure of cover. For example, when is the right time to consider level premiums to optimise savings and quality of cover?

A Staff Specialist will have different issues and needs compared to a VMO. Public sector arrangements differ in their coverage and quality from State to State and employers. Do you replace or augment your current public sector cover and what are the implications for each?

Consultants often transition out of the public sector. Initially income can be uncertain, with implications on what you can insure. More mature practices may have shared service arrangements with other specialists, and more complex tax structures. We understand the variety of arrangements and how to maximise your entitlements. What happens to your practice’s running costs if you are unable to work for an extended period of time?
