The bike that has Multiple Sclerosis

On Sunday 6th March nearly 5,000 Melbournians participated in the 10th MS Melbourne ride, raising awareness and funds for Multiple Sclerosis. The 50km course meanders through the inner west of Melbourne and over the West Gate Bridge. The bridge climb becomes a little easier every year, and is always a lot of fun (this was my 4th MS Ride). I highly recommend it to everyone.

Multiple Sclerosis is the most common neurological condition among young adults, with about four Australians diagnosed with MS every day. The symptoms of MS vary significantly between those affected and can be difficult for most of us to understand and appreciate. This interesting experiment helps bring awareness to these issues in a clever way.

Tim’s Story

"It was in 2008, soon after Tim had proposed to his wife and was enjoying his football career, when he noticed his first symptoms of multiple sclerosis. Blurred vision turned into double vision and before long numbness started to set in. Trying to hide the symptoms at work became increasingly hard for Tim, who soon after contacted MS Employment Support".
